Transport Solutions Manager
To provide business support and expertise regarding the efficient operation of inbound and outbound supply chain processes in line with business requirements; to clients, prospects, suppliers and colleagues to achieve overall quality and customer satisfaction.
To develop, implement and support high quality supply chain solutions in line with business expectations and demand ensuring that performance is within agreed KPI / SLA’s.
Maintain and provide a centralised understanding of UK, European and Worldwide logistics markets including maintaining a matrix of costs and supplier capabilities based on up-to-date knowledge and research of marketplace offerings
Identify, understand and manage / mitigate risk factors relating to the supply chain process including, but not limited to, health and safety, legislative / duty obligations, fuel costs, insurance and environmental factors. Monitor cost, quality, quantity and efficiency of the flow of material movements within the organisation including use of data analysis to resolve logistical problems, produce recommendations and plan improvements to satisfy business demand.
In conjunction with Sales and Client Success teams; to understand, accurately capture and analyse client business requirements and translate these into supply chain design solutions in line with company strategies. Negotiate contracts within industry best practise including negotiating and setting KPI / SLA’s.
Challenge and negotiate with suppliers to acquire industry leading products and competitive pricing.
Work close with Bpost/Landmark Global team to optimise group contracts
Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs including resolving training issues associated with the supply chain process.
Own relationship with suppliers; manage review meetings and ensure issues identified / formally raised by customers or internal business areas are resolved and provide appropriate feedback.
End to end ownership of supply chain solution implementation and to drive project results; including identifying systems approach, creation of functional specifications, identifying and managing risk, initiation of projects (encompassing the full project life cycle) sign-off and testing / implementation.
Complete full post implementation evaluation of success measures.
Control process performance by monitoring process inputs, process operation, and process outputs.
Responding quickly to problems and process variations, identifying causes of performance deficiencies and eliminate root causes.
Maintain, plan and manage budget against cost centre; ensure supply chain conforms to budget controls by use of budget planning, cost analysis, cost management and audit techniques.
Ensure that suppliers meet their contractual obligations for both service and cost.
Good leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate the team
3-5 years experience within a transportation logistics or 3PL organisation.
Commercial acumen with outstanding knowledge of the logistics and e-commerce marketplace.
Strong business and data analysis skills including with knowledge of MS Excel and Access.
Excellent communication skills; ability to present at most senior levels internally and to clients.
Lateral thinker; able to design solutions, and drive project results to completion.
Ability to negotiate at all levels, ability to work with and understand contractual / legal obligations.
Confident self starter with ability to make clear decisions and see these through to completion.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders both internally and externally.
Advanced literacy and numeracy skills.

Experience of a client facing role operationally & Commercially
Understanding of project management life cycles.
Experience in a retail, distance-shopping, warehouse or transport environment.
