We are searching for a CIM who will lead and direct the 3PL Continuous Improvement efforts across multiple sites to achieve key goals and objectives of The Radial Continuous Improvement System.


  • Provide direction and support to site CI champions. Coaches to ensure the Radial Continuous Improvement System is consistently evolved and implemented across responsible network sites.

  • Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives in support of operations leaders leveraging continuous improvement tools and methods.

  • Organize, lead and facilitate cross-functional project and/or kaizen teams responsible for improving processes at the site level.

  • Partner with operations leaders, engineering resources and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify, prioritize and implement improvement initiatives

  • Responsible for supporting operations strategic goals such as improving speed of service, quality of service delivery, process efficiency and effectiveness and process innovation and transformation.

  • Conduct various continuous improvement training sessions such as, but not limited to: problem solving, continuous improvement tools, CI history, visual management and 5s

  • Work with operations leaders to ensure that work instructions, standard work and training material are updated as processes are improved.

  • Partner with finance and operations to document savings related to process improvement activity, including follow-up to ensure post-improvement sustainability

  • Interact with various senior leaders while providing updates on continuous improvement program and activities.

  • Assist in developing and implementing organizational strategies leveraging such tools as Hoshin planning

  • Working closely with site leaders, maintain an active role as a change agent on internal continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

  • Drive the development of compelling business case for projects, developing roadmaps to enable future state, and managing implementation to achieve tangible benefits.

  • Educate, coach, and mentor employees at all levels in the organization to establish an engaged Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence culture

  • Successfully manage project timelines, resources and deliverables and present regularly to stakeholders.

  • Travel approximately 30% of the time to other fulfillment locations to provide support as needed.


  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement leader with 3-7 years progressive experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment

  • Certified lean/six sigma black belt or master black belt

  • Must have experience in various levels of continuous improvement maturity organizations, from developing and launching CI implementation to overseeing mature programs.

  • Ability to understand and thrive in a high-volume work environment during extremely busy peak seasons while executing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; credible with internal stakeholders and external audiences; comfortable meeting with/presenting to executives and senior management.

  • Self-motivated with high sense of urgency. Able to work with little direct supervision.

  • Proficiency with developing metrics planning and good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Proven project implementations with demonstrated process improvement, KPI & financial results

  • Solid hands-on experience using wide range of lean/six sigma management tools (value stream mapping, fish bone diagram, pareto diagram, 5S, visual management, Kanban, Standard Work, Hoshin planning/X-matrix)

Work with operations leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs) and other support partners to select and prioritize improvement opportunities

Conduct site CI maturity assessments annually to determine opportunities to improve

Collaborate with operations leaders and subject matter experts to conduct value stream mapping of processes to understand interactions and opportunities for improvement

Continuous Improvement Strategy and Strategy Deployment10%

Work with site leaders to develop, based on fulfillment operations strategy, site and department level strategy

Partner with operations leaders to conduct Hoshin Planning, including bowlers, action items and reviews

Working with continuous improvement team to continue evolving Radial Continuous Improvement System at site level across responsible network sites

Track and Report on Continuous Improvement Initiatives10%

Partner with finance and operations leaders to develop financial savings related to process improvement activity

Regularly review completed projects/kaizens to ensure initial savings assumptions hold true and adjust savings computations as needed

Follow-up on completed projects/kaizens to ensure sustainment and follow up items are completed

Continuous Improvement Training Deployment20%

Conduct various continuous improvement training sessions including: problem solving, 5s, and visual management

Closely monitor Ci maturity at the site level to determine need for additional training

Client Go-Live/New Site Deployment10%

Support any new client launches at responsible sites, including input on cell design, MHE requirements and staffing requirements

Support any new site launches including cell design and MHE requirements

Network Standardization20%

Support roll-out of the Radial Operating System through partnering with operations, HR and engineering to ensure processes are standardized

Once processes are standardized at the site level monitor to ensure sustainment

Facilitate new processes at site level as part of network standardization

Team Leadership10%

Provide operational supervision of site CI champions ensuring that kaizen/project work is completed in a timely manner

Collaborate with site CI champions regularly to ensure continuous improvement becomes a part of the culture at the site level

Mentor site CI champions on execution of day to day CI activities

Coach/mentor site and other operations leaders on all aspects of the Radial Continuous Improvement System
